Overview

Deploying the New Harbor Assistant extension through the Google Admin console ensures all users in your organization have it installed automatically without needing to install it themselves. Force installing it also prevents users from removing it from their browser.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to the Google Admin console

  • Users in your organization are using Google Chrome as their browser

Instructions

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console

  2. Navigate to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers

  3. Select the organizational unit you want to deploy to

  4. Click the + button to add an extension

  5. Select Add from Chrome Web Store

  6. Enter the extension ID mihcmhkndjldbahhljjdamknfkpfofpj or search for New Harbor Assistant

  7. Set the installation policy to Force install + pin to ensure it appears in all users' browser toolbars

  8. Click Save

Note: Users will see the extension appear automatically on their next browser session. They will not be able to remove it while the policy is in place. If you only want the extension installed without pinning it to the toolbar, you can select Force install instead. To learn more about what the extension does, see How the Browser Extension Works.
