Overview
Forcing users to change their passwords on a schedule is no longer considered a security best practice. Regular password expiration often leads to weaker passwords as users make predictable incremental changes. Disabling expiration encourages users to maintain strong, stable passwords and reduces the risk of account lockout.
Prerequisites
Super Admin access to the Google Admin console
Instructions
Sign in to the Google Admin console
Navigate to Security > Authentication > Password management
Under Expiration, set the number of days to Never expires
Click Save
Note: This setting can be applied to your entire organization or to specific organizational units. Password expiration is disabled by default in Google Workspace, as it is not considered a security best practice.
